Picasso's, "Golden Muse."

Marie-Thérèse Walter was 17 years old when she met the famed Picasso. He referred to her as his "golden muse" and would go on to feature his young lover in a number of his noteworthy paintings.  Part of the late philanthropist Emily Fisher Landau’s collection Femme à la montre (or Woman with a Watch), circa 1932 was sold by Sotheby's for 139.4 million on November 8th. 2023.
